Where did these people go to school? I was also an immigrant (from Sri Lanka) and went through the school system. I was not once discriminated by the officials at any of my schools. I remember when I was a kid, I did definitely have issues with bullying but when the school found out, they dealt with it well. Why was a PRIEST in school too? A Catholic school I guess — is this what goes on in those schools? I feel so sorry for these people’s experiences. I don’t know if their’s or my experience is more common for immigrants but its just sad this happens at all. Our public school system (for all its flaws) is one thing that I really do have a lot of pride in and was happy to be a part of.
